Overview
The individual will be a key part of the Ayima Finance department, which is located in London but has full responsibility for the finance function across the whole Ayima Group of companies located in Sweden, USA and Canada. This role will provide them with a foundation to develop their career in finance.  Some degree of experience will be required but the finance team will be on hand to support the individual. They must be confident and quick to learn to thrive in the dynamic environment. There will be exposure to a wide range of financial processes which the person will be expected to learn within the supportive environment, however they will be expected to use their initiative to drive their development.

Responsibilities

  • Shadow and provide support to the Assistant Accountant with tasks using the experience gained to develop own skills.
  • Manage the accounts payable process to ensure all aspects are completed in a timely manner, including invoices, company credit cards and employee expenses.
  • Tasks include responsibility for processing, recording, maintaining and storing financial information.
  • Ensure all financial transactions are compliant and all files are indexed, verified, and available in accordance with company policies, industry standards, and legal regulations.
  • Responsibility for ensuring that all contracts are stored in line with company policy, both digitally and physically and logged on the internal contract register.
  • Responsibility for updating and maintaining fixed asset register, working with other departments to ensure that information is correct and complete.
  • Liaising with other departments to ensure monthly reporting is completed on time and any other duties as directed by the Finance Director.

Competencies

  • A team player who is also able to work independently.
  • Highly organised with a systematic and methodical approach with excellent administrative skills.
  • Confident with dealing with a variety of contacts with excellent communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and ability to work within tight deadlines whilst maintaining high standards of presentation.
  • Proactive approach to managing queries and solving problems.
  • Comfortable in a financial environment with knowledge of standard accounting practices, terminology and experience with multiple currencies & exchange rates.
  • Knowledge of Quickbooks or Sage accounting systems.
  • Advanced Excel skills are essential.
  • Relevant degree highly advantageous.
